Window Installation BEGINS!

We are in the homestretch of our facade improvement project. AND we couldn’t be more pleased with the results.

In mid-August, two windows were installed on the west side of the building.  The McDonough County Genealogical Society helped with the cost of these windows that improved the conditions in their research library. The change was immediately apparent with improved temperature control and even reducing the sound from the busy street. Another example of how community partnerships and good neighbors can effect positive change.

The remaining six windows that will be installed on the east and south facade will arrive on Monday, September 10.  All the brick has been cleaned and tuckpointed and lintel and sill replacement has been completed. The crew from Laverdiere Construction will install the new large and heavy windows. It is quite a job to get them in place and it’s impressive to watch them work.
