WIU students reflect in a pandemic in real time.

Listen to the interview with WIU students Christina Cottle, Emily Jawoisz, and Niki Nation (Right to left above) and their teacher, Heather McIlvaine-Newsad on Tri States Public Radio’s web site.

WIU Anthropology students reflect in a pandemic in real time.

I teach a 400 class in culture and catastrophe. We examine disaster events from around the globe and explore how different cultures respond to and mitigate disaster events.

Mid semester this year, WIU suspended face to face classes and this class spent the remainder of the semesters exploring various elements of the COVID-19 pandemic.

What follows is an interview with there graduating seniors from the class and their reflections on what they learned this semester.
