The Goldenrods to Perform on Our Front Porch

The Western Illinois Museum is pleased to announce the continuation of the popular music series Our Front Porch into July with another intimate performance set in the most interesting venue in McDonough County. On Saturday, July 15, the Museum welcomes The Goldenrods, playing two sets starting at 7:00 pm. The Goldenrods, hailing from St. Louis, provide a fresh take on “country and midwestern”. With Ryan Koenig on octave mandolin, fiddle, plectrum banjo, and guitar along with Jess Adkins on vocals, guitar, and accordion, this duo will waltz you to tears and two-step you to a joyous grin. Performing original material as well as traditional regional music from Louisiana to Wisconsin, the Museum is proud to feature The Goldenrods on Our Front Porch. The Our Front Porch series is set in a truly convivial space with gorgeous windows, great lighting, historic artifacts, and a bar which, along with the venue, opens at 6:30 pm. Come early to explore our collection, socialize with friends and family, and enjoy our casual atmosphere. There is a suggested $5 donation at the door. This program is funded in part by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council, with additional funding from an Illinois Humanities Council grant and from the state of Illinois American Rescue Plan Act.
The Western Illinois Museum is a non-profit organization celebrating and nurturing the history, culture and traditions of McDonough County, and is quickly becoming a vibrant community hub that features exhibits, an open collection, lectures, music, and other programs in a historic building. The Museum is located at 201 S. Lafayette Street, one block south of Macomb’s Courthouse Square.
