Community Sing-along

February 10, 2019 @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm

In celebration of World Ukulele Day, the Western Illinois Museum and Ukulele Macomb are pleased to hold a Community Sing-a-long on Sunday, February 10, 2019, from 1:30 to 3:00 pm.  The museum’s indoor Our Front Porch space is the perfect setting for a Sunday afternoon, enjoying a piece of pie and singing your favorite songs with family and friends.  Donations at the door are appreciated.

This event is for those who enjoy singing and listening to music -no need to play an instrument.  Like the many generations in the region who entertained themselves by singing together, this event brings families and friends together for an enjoyable time. Song sheets will be available or bring one of your favorites to share.

Since 2011, Ukulele Macomb has been teaching all ages to play the ukulele with workshops and two weekly jam sessions. They provide entertainment to the community by performing for events, organizations and area assisted living centers. Their enthusiasm for the ukulele has encouraged people of all ages to learn to play music and to enjoy singing together.

Doors open and pie served at 1:30 pm; singing begins at 2:00 pm. The Western Illinois Museum is located at 201 South Lafayette Street in Macomb.  For more information, contact the museum at 309.837.2750 or info@wimuseum.org
