Museum Director, Sue Scott, explained the reasons for the Gratitude Party as, “Many things go unnoticed and we’d like people to have a chance to be recognized. When we look collectively at what’s been accomplished this year, I think, we’ll realize how resilient and strong we are as a community. It is also a chance to see how acts of kindness, heroic deeds, and out of the box thinking CAN make a difference.” The guest host for the event is Rich Egger, Tri States Public Radio’s news director, who will accompany Sue Scott for the online party. They will welcome guests from across the community for a brief conversation about what they are grateful for and welcome comments from people joining on YouTube or Facebook to make the program as interactive as possible.
They will welcome guests from across the community including:
- Macomb Mayor Mike Inman and City Administrator, Scott Coker
- Musicians Bill Maakestad, Tania Thakur and Chris Vallillo
- Students from the McDonough County CEO Program
- IL Humanities Executive Director, Gabrielle Lyon and Director of Grant Programs Mark Hallett
- Julie Terstriep from the Easley Museum
- Erin Eveland, executive director of The Hub Arts and Cultural Center
