The Matchsellers visit Our Front Porch

January 5, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

The Matchsellers

The Western Illinois Museum welcomes the Kansas City duo, The Matchsellers, for an evening of Bluegrass music on Our Front Porch. The singer-songwriting pair will perform on Thursday, January 5, 2023, and offer an evening of lively, original music on the Museum’s indoor porch. The doors and cash bar open at 6:30 with music starting at 7:00 pm. There is a suggested $5 donation at the door.

The musical partnership of Andrew Morris (Guitar/Vocals) and Julie Bates (Fiddle/Vocals) began when the two met in Leipzig, Germany. They were two American Midwesterners on Fulbright Scholarships working as Cultural Ambassadors to Germany. Now, nearly ten years later, the folk trailblazers have performed on NPR’s Mountain Stage Radio Show and at Winfield’s Walnut Valley Festival, the John Hartford Memorial Festival, and the Folk Alliance International Official Showcase Artist. They have been featured in the Bluegrass Situation and Bluegrass Today. To learn more about The Matchsellers visit their website at https://thematchsellers.com/
