The St. Louis-based band, The Goldenrods, brings contemporary midwestern experiences to their songwriting delivering a fresh take on country music. The trio includes Ryan Koenig on octave mandolin, fiddle, plectrum banjo, and guitar along with Jess Adkins on vocals, guitar, and accordion, and Kellie Everett on upright bass. Their repertory includes two steps, waltzes and polkas; songs both happy and sad, silly and serious, often sung in harmony make for a memorable evening of live music. This program is funded, in part, by grants from the Illinois Arts Council and the Illinois Humanities Council.
