St Patrick’s Day Community Sing-along

March 14, 2020 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

In celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, Ukulele Macomb and the Western Illinois Museum are pleased to hold a Community Sing-a-long on Saturday, March 14, 2020, following the parade in downtown Macomb.  Favorite Irish Tunes will be featured as guests are welcomed to the museum’s indoor Our Front Porch space to sing-a-long with family and friends.  Donations at the door are appreciated and so is dressing “green” for the occasion.

This event is for those –Irish or not- who enjoy singing, humming and listening to music and there is no need to play an instrument.  Like the many generations in the region who entertained themselves by singing together, this toe-tapping event brings families and friends together for an enjoyable time. Song sheets will be available or bring one of your favorites to share.

Since 2011, Ukulele Macomb has been teaching all ages to play the ukulele with workshops and two weekly jam sessions. They provide entertainment to the community by performing for events, organizations and area assisted living centers. Their enthusiasm for the ukulele has encouraged people of all ages to learn to play music and to enjoy singing together.

The event will follow the parade held in downtown Macomb. The Western Illinois Museum is located at 201 South Lafayette Street in Macomb.  For more information, contact the museum at 309.837.2750 or info@wimuseum.org
