Make a pinwheel and enjoy old-fashioned games

June 25, 2022 @ 9:30 am - 1:00 pm

To celebrate the 40th year of Macomb’s Heritage Days, the Western Illinois Museum invites you to learn about and try your hand at some old-fashioned games.  On Saturday, June 25th from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm  Museum’s re-enactors will demonstrate games played in the 1800s that use simple everyday items.  Bring your family and friend by for a game of hopscotch or checkers, and learn how to play string games like Cats in the Cradle, and clapping games. Our volunteers will help you make a hand-held pinwheel to take home. The activities are free and open to the public and a fun way to celebrate and participate in our heritage!

The Western Illinois Museum is located at 201 South Lafayette Street, one block south of Macomb’s Courthouse Square. For more information, contact the Museum by phone at 309.837.2750, by text at 309.837.2613, or by email at info@wimuseum.org.

This program is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council Agency.
