Ukulele Festival

The Western Illinois Museum and Ukulele Macomb announce they will host ukulele stylist and music educator, Kimo Hussey, for this year’s Ukulele Festival. On Saturday, June 6, 2015, Kimo kicks off his summer 2015 mainland tour in Macomb, teaching multilevel workshops at the museum and concluding the festival with an evening performance.

Born and raised in Hawaii, Kimo Hussey has numerous recordings and authored an award-winning Hawaiian songbook. Renowned for his smooth style, he has reached millions through his You Tube video classes, as well as performed and taught workshops all over the world. Kimo commented, “I love to push the envelope and embrace different styles or methodologies of play to assure the instrument’s continued growth.” He has served as director of the Ukulele Guild of Hawaii, previously chaired the board of a non-profit organization specializing in clinical music therapy, and was the board chairman and founder of the Pacific Music Foundation, a non-profit organization specializing in Hawaiian music.
